Public Relations
Dates: mid-1980s
Description
In the mid 1980s, I became interested in photographing people in public places and capturing their interactions. I chose crowded urban spaces, such as Downtown Crossing in Boston and Provincetown on the Cape. I tried to be as anonymous as possible and used a telephoto lens to keep my distance and record genuine interactions. These ranged from a middle aged woman observing a street band, to a group of men checking out the action, to a couple acting out a scene and, finally, to a man looking straight at the lens. These were colorful people with colorful interactions. The images are intended for viewer interest and are not available for sale.
