The Grid: DeCordova

Description

I have always been interested in experimenting with photography. One experiment that particularly intrigued me was to cut small pieces (2”x2” squares) from multiple photographs and combine them into a new image. I found that a grid was the most effective way to structure the work. This series from the DeCordova Sculpture Garden in Lincoln, MA is the most recent of four series in “The Grid.” The sculpture in the Garden is compelling, and I hoped that by repeating all or parts of a sculpture multiple times and by combining different pieces of sculpture, I could produce strong images that capture the essence of the original work but have their own strength and beauty.
